Top 10 List – Most Points Scored by a Player in a NBA Game
This is a quite unique kind of a list where you will find a single name repeated over and over again. The name is the Wilt Chamberlain who appeared in the list for about six times. He is positioned not only at the top spot but also placed in some other slots as well.
1. Wilt Chamberlain (100 Points)
Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points in a game against the New York Knicks on March 2, 1962. It is the highest ever score made by a player in a NBA game. He produced so many big scores in initial few years of his career.
2. Kobe Bryant (81 Points)
In 2006, Kobe Bryant made 81 points against the Toronto Raptors, the second most points in a single NBA game. He made most of the points (55 points) in the second half of the game.
3. Wilt Chamberlain (78 Points)
In his third season with Philadelphia Warriors, Wilt Chamberlain scored 78 points in a game against Los Angeles Lakers. Despite wholehearted efforts of Chamberlain, the Warriors lost the game with meager margin of 4 points.
4. Wilt Chamberlain (73 Points)
In the year 1962, Wilt Chamberlain set several scoring records which have never been broken till now. On January 13, 1962, he accumulated 73 points against Chicago Packers and eventually won the game for the Warriors handsomely.
4. Wilt Chamberlain (73 Points)
On November 16, 1962, Chamberlain again scored 73 points in a game between San Francisco Warriors and New York Knicks, making total 15 free throws, 14 of them consecutive at one point.

7. Wilt Chamberlain (72 Points)
On November 3, 1962, again Wilt Chamberlain made a huge score (72 points) against the Los Angeles Lakers but all of his efforts went in vain once more. The game turned out to be a disappointment for Chamberlain as again he was on the losing side despite making lot of points.

24 April was the final day of the 1993-94 season when David Robinson scored 71 points against the Los Angeles Clippers. There was another competition going on between the Robinson and Shaquille O’Neal for the scoring title which was eventually won by the Robinson courtesy of those 71 points, scored on the last day of the regular season (breaking George Gervin’s record of 63 on the final day of the 1977-78 season).
10. Wilt Chamberlain (70 Points)
On March 10, 1963, Syracuse Nationals went on to beat the San Francisco Warriors comfortably despite the 70 points scored by Wilt Chamberlain.
