Most missed Field Goals in an NBA Career
There are some records which a player does not want to have in his NBA career. One of them is most missed field goals by a player in his career. The following is the list of the players who missed most field goals in the history of NBA.
Kobe Bryant (13, 421 to date)
Kobe Bryant owns many records, some are good and some are not so good. Recently, he set a rather notorious record for most missed field goals of all time. He missed 13, 418th field goal of his career against Memphis Grizzlies during the fourth quarter of the game.
John Havlicek (13, 417)
Previously, the record was held by Boston Celtics legend John Havlicek. Havlicek, nicknamed “Hondo” spent 16 years in NBA, all with Boston Celtics and won eight championships with them. He was credited with revolutionizing the role of sixth man. He went on to win NBA Finals MVP award in 1974.
Elvin Hayes ( 13, 296)
Elvin Hayes is third on the all time list of missed field goals. He amassed 13, 296 missed field goals in his 16 seasons in NBA. Despite so many misses, he has been considered one of the greatest players ever to play in NBA. He won NBA championship in 1978 and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1990.
Karl Malone (12, 682)
Karl Malone, one of greatest power forwards of all time, missed 12, 682 field goals during his NBA career. Malone was a player who was difficult to defend because of his strength and strong physique. He was one of those great players who never won a championship in their career but he went on to win two NBA MVP awards in 1997 and 1999.
Kareem Abdul Jabbar (12, 470)
Kareem Abdul Jabbar tallied 12, 470 missed field goals in his 20 years long NBA career. The record is among very few undesirable things of his career. Otherwise, he was one of those fortunate basketball players who achieved a lot both as an individual and a team player. He won six NBA championships with 6 MVP awards and 2 Finals MVP awards.
Michael Jordan (12, 345)
Surprisingly, the worlds best ever basketball player is also included in the list. Michael Jordan missed 12, 345 field goal in his NBA career but the record does not make any difference to his greatness as a player.
