    Basketball is a no-contact sport, where getting physical with other players is not allowed. Still physical contact is unavoidable as individuals play their game staying quite close to each other, either intentionally or unintentionally, physical contact can occur. As a result, a foul is called against the offender. The following seven are the all-time leaders in personal fouls, these are the greats of the gamse and it’s a bit strange to find players of such caliber in this list. (These numbers only reflects the fouls in the regular season, not in the playoffs)

    1. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (4657)

    Kareem Abdul- Jabbar is all time leader in personal fouls. He is third both on blocks and reboundings and must had been frequently messed up with the opponents.

    2. Karl Malone (4578)

    Karl Malone committed 4578 fouls in his 19 years long career. Being a main scorer in his team, he was oftenly targeted by the opposition. As a result, he also came up with some irritating tricks.

    3. Robert Parish (4443)

    It’s a bit surprise to see a quiet and calm player like Robert Parish in this list. He compiled 4443 personal fouls in his career. Not all the time he started to get physical but sometimes others forced him to do that.

    4. Charles Oakley (4421)

    Charles Oakley was known for his physical play. He justified his reputation by accumulating 4421 person fouls in his career.

    5. Hakeem Olajuwon (4383)

    Hakeem Olajuwon is placed 11th in reboundings, first in  blocks and 8th in steals. Besides such great records, a nasty record of 4383 fouls is also to his name.

    6. Buck Williams (4267)

    Buck Williams was mostly remembered for his rebounds, he ranked 14th in NBA career rebounds. The players famous for rebounding often duel with problem of personal fouls. A total of4267 fouls were called against Buck Williams.

    7. Elvin Hayes (4193)

    Elvin Hayes stands 14th in rebounding,  second in blocks and 7th in personal fouls with a total of 4193 in his professional career.
