Top 7 NBA Players with most 3 Point Field Goals
The following is a list of those NBA players who made most field goals from the three point range. They are undoubtedly the best three point shooters of all-time.
1. Ray Allen– 2973
Ray Allen is the all-time leader in three-point field goals made, with 2973. He started his career in 1996 with Milwaukee Bucks and made his first three-pointer on Nov. 1, 1996, against the Philadelphia 76ers. Nine years later, on April 7, 2006, he was on the second place in all-time list, trailing only Reggie Miller. On February 10, 2011, he broke the record for most three pointers, set by Reggie Miller and moved into the first place of all-time 3 point field goals.
2. Reggie Miller– 2560
Reggie Miller was the leading three point shooter, with 2560 until Ray Allen surpassed him. He established his reputation as a prolific long range shooter in the very first season of his professional career when he hit 61 three pointers in 1987-88 season, most by any rookie in NBA. In later years, he emerged as a clutch performer as well, who can score and hit three pointers when his team needs the most.
3. Jason Kidd– 1988
Jason Kidd is not as natural and accurate three point shooter as the aforementioned players. Still, he is in the third place on all the made three pointers list with 1988. He shoots only 35 percent beyond the three point arc, less than any player in this list.
4. Jason Terry– 1976
Jason Terry is an expert three point shooter and is fourth on the list for the most three point field goals. So far he has made 1976 three pointers in his career and his three point shooting percentage stands at 38.
5. Paul Pierce –1951
Paul Pierce ranks fifth in the list of all time regular season three-point field goals made. He hit 1951 three pointers in his career so far. He was the winner of the three-point shootout contest twice once in 2010.
6. Chauncey Billups– 1830
Chauncey Billups has made 1783 three pointers in 4587 attempts, with an average of 38 percent. His highest average came in 2007-08 season when he shot 44 percent from the three point line. He also participated in 2004, 2006 and 2010 three point shootout contests but he could not won any of them.
7. Vince Carter– 1822
Vince Carter is a player who is mostly known for his dunks and has won slam dunk contest in 2000. He has also made 1822 three pointers with an average of 37.7 percent and seems to pile up few more before his career ends.
